During the course of our research, we found that there was limited availability of suitable stock images and vectors representing the collective. Thus, we commissioned Selvam to create culturally sensitive illustrations and vectors that authentically represent the experiences and narratives of the research collective.
Some of these vectors are available for download here. Please feel free to use them in your work. All we ask is that you credit Selvam and the EXCAPE URMI project in your usage. Do tag us on social media @excapeurmi as well!”
By showcasing the stories and contributions of the research collective, the digital exhibition directly addresses the underrepresentation and biased
illustrations of Malaysian Indian women in mainstream media. The exhibition thus serves as a vehicle to combat media invisibility and harmful stereotypes of Malaysian Indian women.
Sumber pembelajaran ini direka untuk murid tahap atas sekolah rendah di Malaysia bagi memperkenalkan konsep kolonialiti (kesan penjajahan) dan prekariti (ketidaktentuan hidup) dalam cara yang mudah difahami. Bahan ini menyokong sesi pembelajaran selama 2 jam di dalam kelas. Versi Bahasa Inggeris dan Bahasa Tamil disediakan. Guru boleh menyesuaikan bahan mengikut keperluan kelas masing-masing.
